About Tita
A voice shaped by devotion
Tita Farrar has spent a lifetime in conversation with the music of Peggy Lee — studying its nuance, inhabiting its emotion, and carrying it forward with reverence and originality.
The journey
From the first note to the stage
Tita Farrar discovered Peggy Lee the way most great loves begin — unexpectedly, and all at once. A late-night radio broadcast, a voice that seemed to know something the world hadn't told her yet. From that moment, she was devoted.
She trained in classical voice before finding her true home in the jazz and pop standards of the mid-twentieth century. The Peggy Lee songbook became her scripture — not to copy, but to understand. To feel the architecture of each phrase, the weight of each silence.
Today, Tita performs across the country and internationally, bringing Peggy Lee's music to new audiences while honoring the listeners who have loved it for decades. Her performances are not impersonations — they are acts of deep artistic empathy.
Artistic philosophy
The Voice as Instrument, Medicine, and Art
Instrument
The voice is the most intimate instrument — no barrier between the artist and the sound. Tita treats her voice with the discipline and care of a concert musician.
Medicine
Music heals. A great song can reach places that words alone cannot. Tita believes in the restorative power of live performance and the human voice.
Art
Every performance is a creative act. Tita brings her full artistic self to each song — not as a replica of Peggy Lee, but as a living continuation of her legacy.
